RED AEGIS on DriveThruRPG

The RED AEGIS Roleplaying Game is now available for purchase on DriveThruRPG.com. Of course, as backers of the game through Kickstarter you should have already received an email from DriveThruRPG to download a complimentary copy. Send me a private message if you still haven’t received it!

I uploaded a revised copy of the game manuscript on July 5th, so be sure to grab the latest PDF from DriveThruRPG.com. The most up-to-date file is titled “REDAEGIS_GameManual_July2016.pdf”

Hardcover

RED AEGIS is not quite ready to send off to the printer. I’m still making some mechanical adjustments to several followers as well as adding additional art to Chapter 12. I plan to have those final edits to the layout designer by the end of this month. So, if all goes to plan, the manuscript will be in Print Ninja’s hands by mid-August, followed by an estimated 90 days to print and ship the book from overseas. Realistically, we’re looking at November to have the hardcover in hand.

What’s Next?

I’m currently outlining the plot elements for the solo adventure in the RED AEGIS Player’s Guide. I also really, REALLY, want to get the www.redaegis.com website set up again soon. Now that the Core Rulebook is wrapping up, I can finally get back to work on the Digital Tools.

It’s nearly June!? Ye gods, where did the time go?

RED AEGIS Core Rulebook

This month saw additional polishing to the Core Rulebook in preparation for its public debut. Alas, I didn’t get the corrections to our layout designer in time for this month’s update. That work should be completed within a week, however, and will be automatically applied to your library at DriveThruRPG.com. An email will be sent out at the time of the update.

Everyone that pledged towards the Core Rulebook should now have a copy of the game. If you did not receive an email from DriveThruRPG.com, send me a direct message through Kickstarter and I’ll generate you a manual link to the file. The game listing is still set to private, so you won’t be able to find RED AEGIS by browsing the web site.

If you have friends that might want to purchase a copy of RED AEGIS, the game will be publicly available on DriveThruRPG.com as a digital download later in June. Print-on-demand might be a possibility, but will require further research.

RED AEGIS Player’s Guide

With the Core Rulebook nearly live, I’m now able to spend some mental energy on the Player’s Guide. This book is primarily a subset of the Core Rulebook, containing most of the content from Chapters 1 through 5. In addition, the Player’s Guide will contain a learn-as-you-go solo adventure called The Awakening, serving as a prequel to the main campaign. Backers of the Player’s Guide and those with the Digital Boxed Set will receive this book free as part of their pledge reward.

Stretch Goal Rewards

Understandably, many of you are eager for news of the other Kickstarter backer rewards, such as the Hacker’s Guides or the Unleashed fiction. Those rewards are all still coming, but not in the near term. My primary focus at this time is completing the tasks necessary to get the Core Rulebook proof sent to the printer. I want that hardcover rulebook in my hands, and that must take priority at the present time.

RED AEGIS April 2016 Update
about 8 years ago – Sat, Apr 30, 2016 at 11:20:21 PM

At long last! The RED AEGIS Roleplaying Game is finally on DriveThruRPG.com and available for download. In fact, most backers should have already received an email from DriveThruRPG with instructions on downloading a free PDF of the game. Double check your SPAM folders if you cannot find the email. Otherwise, feel free to message me and I’ll double check your account.

I know many of you are eager to get your hands on the print copy of the game (so am I!) but I’m not quite finished with the layout. The manuscript is still missing annotations and some game mechanics in the Followers chapter need further adjustment. This game is only going to get one print run, so I want to make absolutely sure it’s as polished as possible before I send it off to the printer. Of course, all updates to the game will be automatically uploaded to your library at DriveThruRPG.com.

RED AEGIS March 2016 Update
about 8 years ago – Thu, Mar 31, 2016 at 11:16:09 PM

Chapter 11—the last chapter to need significant edits—is now complete and in layout. Thank the gods!

I still need a few weeks to add the side-column annotations I spoke of in a previous update, but backers should expect to download the complete RED AEGIS Core Rulebook from DriveThruRPG.com by the end of April. Pinky promise.

If you have an existing account at DriveThruRPG.com, but your email there differs from your Kickstarter email, please be sure to provide your DriveThruRPG email in the appropriate survey question at BackerKit. If you don’t already have a DriveThruRPG.com account, no problem. The email you receive from DriveThruRPG will contain a link to download your free copy of the sourcebook.

After that, the Core Rulebook is off to the press at Print Ninja. More info on that process later.

In the meantime, I added one new document to the downloads at BackerKit: The Domain Record Sheet. This template is used during play to record the territories controlled by your empire, as well as the outpost and landmarks you’ve constructed in your domain.

RED AEGIS Leap Day Update
about 8 years ago – Mon, Feb 29, 2016 at 09:37:08 PM

Quick update this month folks.

I have uploaded a copy of the oh-so-nearly-complete manuscript to BackerKit for your review (Corebook Preview - Feb 2016). Sadly, illness prevented me from finishing the remaining edits in their entirety. Delays are annoying, no question there, but in this 320 page document I hope you see the game you pledged your support towards all those many months ago.

Until next,
